Christmas Eve in Illinois

This year we decided that we would go to Illinois on Christmas Eve, because we really wanted to be home Christmas day.

We got up at around 6 am, because we wanted to get to Amanda's parents' house early. We got our gifts, kids, and supplies loaded into the van and headed out. We actually made really good time and managed to get to their house at around 8:45 am. They are on central time so we gain an hour going over, but lose one coming back.

We had all decided to open gifts with Amanda's Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister-in-law, and sister at her parents' house because her grandma's house gets a little crazy when everyone gets there. We opened gifts there and then headed over to Amanda's grandma's house to spend Christmas Eve with the whole family.

Amanda's grandma's house is always quite the experience. There are usually close to 15 people ,if not over, crammed into her grandma's house. There is always tons of food, tons of laughs, and tons of storytelling. It was great seeing everyone and getting some family pictures.
